About

I have followed a meandering path that currently sees me working as a photographer and fine artist in Burlington, Ontario. My ideal is to create works that foster nostalgia and care for the important things in our lives and around us, as well as to add beauty to personal and professional spaces.

Following my own values, my work is generally focused on candid images of who we are, where we live, and what we do. Since the natural environment is fundamental in my life, it is a common theme or backdrop in my art. Other subjects that show up in my works include home, family, and pets, urban and rural scenes, community, musicians/performances, travel-related explorations, and meaningful objects or personal items.

My works range from beauty for beauty’s sake to something more intimate or personally and culturally meaningful. One thing all my works have in common is a view to our heritage—whether that is natural, cultural, or personal. For you, I would love to work with you to create keepsakes and decor that celebrate and commemorate the people, places, and things you love.

My foray into the professional art world is relatively recent after studying and working in environmental sciences for over 20 years. After my studies at the the University of Guelph, I worked with the Canadian federal government. There, I transitioned from environmental research to environmental regulation to publishing and environmental communications. I was in search of where I might be able to make a difference by contributing to environmental protection and restoration. Throughout this time, my latent artistic compulsions—present since childhood—persisted on percolating through.

Over the years, I have studied and refined my fine art and photography skills through two certificate programs at Sheridan College, as well as through various workshops and courses.

I am a member of the Professional Photographers of Canada, where I have earned accreditation in pictorial/scenic photography.
