With appreciation for paintings I made featuring their lands, Conservation Halton asked me to write a 1200-word article that spoke to my social media bio that stated I was "…called from an environmental science career to create art.” Conservation Halton’s online magazine is now obsolete, so for posterity, I republished here in my own blog what I wrote, as it was originally written and published in 2018. The hopes and desires in this article still ring true.

The Bruce Trail Conservancy aims to secure unprotected private lands and continue creating nature reserves and other protected natural areas. This will help to establish a fully connected conservation corridor, in perpetuity. They do this by purchasing land with funds raised through fundraising campaigns and from individual donors, and by accepting donations of land.

In celebration of Bruce Trail Day today, I am happy to report that with the help and contributions of many, we raised just shy of $7000 for the Bruce Trail Conservancy through our Bruce Trail Inspired Art Show at The HUB last week. This money will go toward the conservancy’s mission of preserving a ribbon of wilderness, for everyone, forever.
